Ansel’s Daybreak

Night and day. That’s how so many of our friends described their child’s emergence into babyhood and all the rewards for the long, sleepless nights of crying and feeding. For a long time we waited for that sudden awakening, but as we waited, we realized that we would need to be patient, because Ansel’s dawn would brighten slowly; that we would have to watch carefully, constantly adjusting our vision and way of seeing in the dark before his long-awaited daybreak. Until the light of day, we won’t know what lies ahead for Ansel, and of course, we may get lost sometimes, but ultimately arriving at a joyful place for having forged a path, no matter where it leads.
What lies ahead?
If you’re going through hell,
keep going.
Winston Churchill
